Founded in 1977, Hoffmann Architects specializes in the rehabilitation of the building envelope. The firm's work focuses on the exteriors of existing structures, diagnosing and resolving deterioration within facades, roofing systems, windows, waterproofing materials, plazas/terraces, parking garages, and historic landmark structures. Hoffmann Architects' technical professionals investigate and correct damage resulting from time and weather, substandard or improper construction, design defects, materials failures, poor workmanship, structural movement and stress.
Recent Projects include:
New Haven Courthouse: New Haven, Connecticut Hoffmann Architects reviewed original drawings and previous reports on the 1914 Neoclassical Revival courthouse and conducted an investigation to document deterioration. As part of the team, Hoffmann Architects provided contract documents and construction administration for restoration of the marble facade, column capitals and the grand staircase.
Congregational Church of Naugatuck, Connecticut The church retained Hoffmann Architects to identify and remediate causes of ongoing deterioration of the landmark steeple of the 1901 Beaux-Arts church (pictured here).
