About the Project
The CT Architectural Records originates from CTCOPAR, who began in the autumn of 1993 when a group interested in preserving architectural records met and agreed to compile and send out a survey form to about 200 institutions and architectural and landscape design firms across the state (about 90 institutions and firms replied at that time.) On receipt of the replies, a relational database was designed and input of data began at the Art & Design Library at the University of Connecticut. The addition of the text of the above mentioned publications was added in intervening years.
Founding members of CTCOPAR were: CT/ASLA (Connecticut Chapter of the Connecticut Society of Landscape Architects), AIA/Connecticut (American Institute of Architects, Connecticut Chapter), The Stowe-Day Foundation, Connecticut Historical Commission, Connecticut Historical Society, Antiquarian and Landmarks Society, Connecticut League Historical Societies, Connecticut Trust for Historic Preservation, Greater Hartford Architectural Conservancy, and the Connecticut Society of Engineers in Private Practice.
