As of 2005, the CT Architectural Records resource contains biographical information mostly on Hartford-based architects who were in practice prior to 1940.

It is based on the pioneering publications of David F. Ransom and Greg Andrews Structures and Styles: a Guide to Hartford Architecture [Hartford, Connecticut Historical Society and the Connecticut Architecture Foundation, 1988] and David F. Ransom "Biographical Dictionary of Hartford Architects" [Hartford, Connecticut Historical Society Bulletin, Volume 54, numbers 1 & 2 (Winter/ Spring 1989] first planned as a component of Structure and Styles.

Data from the three volumes of Hartford Architecture Vol. 1: Downtown (1978); Vol. 2: South Neighborhoods (1980); Vol. 3: North and West Neighborhoods (1980) [Hartford, Hartford Architecture Conservancy, Inc., 1978-1980] enters into the alpha-numeric lists of works of each architect. The database also includes architectural data and drawings location information on the 24 state armories in the "Original drawings collection of the Connecticut Military Department armories."
