Connecticut Trust for Historic Preservation
&
National Trust for Historic Preservation
The Connecticut Circuit Riders are at work across Connecticut helping people realize the value these irreplaceable assets contribute to the quality of their lives and neighborhoods.
How does the Program Work?
In addition to helping with immediate preservation problems, Circuit Riders work with communities to inform them about tools and resources available to help preserve for the future: financial and economic development incentives, tax credits, grants, historic district, local ordinances, etc. The Circuit Riders work with many statewide and national preservation organizations to provide the widest range of tools.
What can the Circuit Riders do for you?
Through investigative visits, consultations and meetings, they:
- Help to define relevant issues and develop preservation strategies;
- offer financial assistance through the Connecticut Trust’s Historic Preservation Technical Assistance Grants and Historic Buildings Financing Fund;
- and offer training session for local historic district commissions.
Who are the Circuit Riders?
The Connecticut Circuit Riders are field officers trained to bring preservation resources to local groups.
