General Services Administration

Another government agency, the General Services Administration has an extremely informative site with a section entitled Historic Preservation Technical Procedures, which contains detailed technical information and procedures. The GSA, which is the public steward for many historic structures, has developed technical procedures to be used in specialized historic preservation work, as well as, general evaluation, maintenance and repair of old buildings. This site provides detailed instructions on maintaining and repairing historic buildings and provides technical information to improve the quality and consistency of maintenance and repairs of these significant structures.
